Westpark Centre Awarded LEED® Green Building Certification

Arlington, Texas – October, 2011 – Westpark Centre office building has been awarded LEED CI Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is the USGBC's rating system for designing and constructing the world's greenest, most energy efficient, and high performance buildings.

"Credit goes to the owner, who decided to go beyond the lowest bid by choosing a membrane roof and high efficiency HVAC units," said Carol Sosebee, COO of SCM Real Estate Services. "Having the ability to attain LEED certification helped the GSA to select Westpark Centre for their 40,000 square foot office."

LEED verifies environmental performance, occupant health and financial return. LEED was established for market leaders to design and construct buildings that protect and save precious resources, while also making good economic sense.

LEED CI Silver certification was based on a number of green design and construction features that positively impact the project itself and the broader community. These features include energy use, lighting, water, and material use, as well as incorporation of a variety of other sustainable strategies.

Westpark Centre office building is located at 150 Westpark Way, Euless. The 3-story 74,000 square foot building is located directly off Airport Freeway, surrounded by restaurants and retail businesses.
